Magic Mountain

This guide should leave you set to enjoy your best day at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

    When to go
The best time to go is when the park is open on weekdays in April, May, and September. If you cannot go on a weekday, be forewarned - weekends are crowded! Weekdays in the summer months are tolerable (but avoid Monday and Friday), however the park will probably have many camps in attendance during the day.

    When to arrive
Arrive right when the park opens.

    Shoes
Bring comfortable shoes. Magic Mountain truly lives up to its name of being a mountain.

    Food
Six Flags Magic Mountain is not famous for its food (except its world famous funnel cakes and the incredible X-Fries); however, there are many ways to make your eating experience more enjoyable. Eat lunch at odd hours, such as before 11:30 AM or after 2:00 PM. In addition, the best food (and best deals) can be found at the sit down restaurants Mooseburger Lodge and Laughing Dragon Pizza Company. The prices for food at these restaurants are comparable to the fast food style restaurants, and they are the only places in the park where you can get free refills on sodas. There are American Express and AAA discounts at these restaurants. Before you leave the park, you have to try the park's funnel cakes, which can only be found at Suzette's Bakery.

    Rides - a sample itinerary
Deja vu -> X (Xperience the Xtreme before crowds get too hectic) -> Orient Express (to Samurai Summit) -> Superman: The Escape -> Ninja (head down the mountain) -> Riddler's Revenge (If you are in the mood for a calmer coaster, hop aboard Gold Rusher) -> Batman: The Ride -> Scream -> Colossus -> Psyclone -> Viper -> The Revolution (If the line is not too long, take another ride on X) -> Flashback -> Goliath. While wandering through the park, feel free to ride the flat rides and water rides that you encounter. Don’t miss Freefall!
